About Dr. Heringer

Dr. Dustin Heringer is an oculofacial plastic and cosmetic surgeon. He grew up in Bismarck, ND, and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where he graduated summa cum laude. Following that, Dr. Heringer earned his medical degree in his home state at the University of North Dakota where he received many honors including the North Dakota Medical Scholars Award (awarded to top three students), the Dr. Stanley J Brumleve Award in Physiology, the McGraw-Hill Award in biochemistry, the Altru Clinic Award and the Drs O.W. and C.G. Johnson Award for outstanding medical student research project. Following medical school, Dr. Heringer performed his residency training at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, OR, where he studied ophthalmology and general surgery. During his residency he received the prestigious Swan Research Award for his work on lentiviral gene therapy on melanoma cells.

After residency, Dr. Heringer completed two separate fellowships in plastic and cosmetic surgery. He first completed a two year ocular and facial plastic surgery fellowship at the Arizona Centre for Plastic Surgery, which focused on plastic surgery around the eyelids and face. He then completed a one year AACS approved general cosmetic surgery fellowship at Tulsa Surgical Arts. During this year, he performed over 1300 cosmetic surgeries, learning cutting edge techniques in cosmetic surgery of the aging face, facial volumetric surgery, skin rejuvenation with peels, lasers and injectable fillers.

Following training, Dr. Heringer served our Veterans at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, AZ, performing oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Academically, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona and enjoys working with and instructing the residents during their training. He is also an active researcher and has published multiple scientific papers and medical book chapters.

Qualifications
● Dr. Heringer is an expert in ophthalmic plastic and facial cosmetic surgery. He is one of the few surgeons who is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Board of Ophthalmology.
● As a member of the prestigious ASOPRS society, Dr. Heringer is one of the approximately 500 surgeons in the world who has completed an accredited fellowship, passed extensive written and oral board exams, and completed a peer reviewed thesis relating to ophthalmic and facial plastic surgery.Certification
