Optometric Services

Horizon Eye Specialists and LASIK Center (HESLC) is the premier provider of professional eye care services for people of all ages in Arizona. Our team of skilled optometrists builds strong, long-lasting relationships with our patients by cultivating trust and applying expertise to help maintain healthy eyes.

"Primary Care" Eye Doctor

The optometric services offered at HESLC go beyond routine exams for glasses or contact lenses. With their depth of experience and training, HESLC optometrists are qualified to act as your "primary care" eye doctor - they diagnose, manage and/or treat all eye disease and conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, dry eye, and retinal damage secondary to plaquenil usage or hypertension. They also work closely with primary care physicians and refer patients to reputable eye surgeons and specialists when specific medical or surgical attention is needed.

Eye Care for the Entire Family

HESLC offers eye care for everyone - you, your children, and the elderly-making HESLC the top choice for family eye care. Our optometric services are available at all our locations in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Glendale.

Eye Exams and Fittings for Glasses

If you are nearsighted, farsighted or have astigmatism, our optometrists can also perform a refraction to update your glasses prescription and fit you with a comfortable and appropriate pair of eyeglasses. Our in-office optical, Sharona Optical, offers a wide array of frames and lenses to choose from.

Contact Lens Exams and Fittings

Contact Lens Exams and Fittings

If you prefer to wear contact lenses, our optometrists can provide a contact lens exam to determine your prescription and identify the lens best suited for you. A wide variety of soft contact lenses are available including disposables, silicone hydrogels, extended wear lenses, dailies, multifocal or bifocal lenses, and torics for patients with astigmatism.

Some of our patients opt for rigid gas permeable or hard contact lenses which potentially offer clearer vision for astigmatism, and misshapen corneas, and may offer greater resistance to deposits than soft contacts.

In addition, we provide monovision and specialty lens fittings. For example, those with keratoconus, a condition involving an abnormally shaped cornea, can be fitted with lenses matching the unique curvature of their eyes. We also specialize in other hard-to-fit cases include post-surgical and post-traumatic lenses.

Emergency Eye Care

In addition to pre-scheduled exams, HESLC optometrists are equipped to provide emergency eye care should you encounter problems related to red eye, trauma, pain or double vision. We also treat patients with viral, bacterial or allergic conjunctivitis, flashes and floaters, and blurred or lost vision.

Pre- and Post-op Eye Care: Co-management

Pre- and Post-op Eye Care: Co-management

Patients requiring or electing to have eye surgery oftentimes need multiple visits, tests and measurements. Furthermore, as a benefit to our patients we offer multiple locations, surgical options, and scheduling dates. Here at HESLC, we've adapted a team approach to accommodate the wide-ranging logistical needs of all our patients. Our optometrists are trained and experienced to co-manage your pre- and post-op care with our surgeons. This co-management model is possible for refractive, cataract, glaucoma and other eye surgeries we perform.

They can also provide you with an objective opinion on whether you are a good candidate for a surgical procedure, including refractive surgeries like iLASIK, PRK, ICL or refractive lens exchange.
