Choosing a doctor for LASIK was not easy. I did my research. After meeting Dr. McCulloch and the staff, I knew they were the team for me! I had worn contact lenses for ten years prior to two corneal transplants at age 25. After that, glasses would no longer correct my vision, and being such an active person, the specialty made contacts I had to wear were impractical. I began to investigate LASIK in 1997, hoping that someone could help me. Every vision center that I called told me that no doctor would perform LASIK on transplanted corneas. I later discovered that Dr. McCulloch had in fact performed this procedure successfully, many times, and so I decided to put my faith in him.
Here’s what I know; if I were born ten years earlier, I would have lived life as a blind man. Technology matured more and more, seemingly in the nick of time, to save me from that fate.
