About Dr. Rockwell
Dr. David Rockwell joined Horizon Eye Specialists & LASIK Center in 2009 and provides all types of routine eye care, including contact lens fittings. In addition, he has extensive experience within an eye surgery practice setting, providing pre- and post-operative care, glaucoma care, and diagnosing and managing other eye diseases.
Dr. Rockwell graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1991. He then graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1995 as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Fraternity. He took the additional step in training by completing a residency in ocular disease and surgical co-management at the Eye Institute of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Rockwell is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Arizona Optometric Association (AZOA). In 2023, Dr. Rockwell was recognized by the AZOA as "Optometrist of the Year" to acknowledge his significant contribution to optometry. He was selected as the AZOA’s “Young Optometrist of the Year” in 2004, and served as President in 2006. Furthermore, he is a long-serving board member, and past President, of the Arizona Friends of Talking Books, the charity associated with the Arizona State Braille and Talking Book Library.
In 2012 Dr. Rockwell received an appointment to Midwestern University's Arizona College of Optometry and serves as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor teaching fourth-year optometric Interns.
